The Rock n' Roll Life of Neil Peart

Ever heard of the band Rush?  If so,  you're probably familiar with their legendary drummer Neil Pert.

But did you know that before he was a rock star,  he worked as Pert's manager at his father's farm equipment dealership?

Pert joined Rush in 1974 and quickly became renowned for his technical proficiency and live performances. He was a self-proclaimed, prating-about enthusiast, meaning he loved to explore and experiment with his music. In fact,  he was so dedicated to his that after decades of success, Pert took a sabbatical to study jazz in the late 90s.

His pursuit of improvement, despite already being at the pinnacle of his profession,  is truly inspiring. But Pert wasn't just a drummer. He was a primary lyricist for Rush, weaving intricate and thought-provoking narratives through his lyrics.

He was also an accomplished author, penning several travelogues.  Now here's a fun fact. Pert was an avid motorcyclist, he often rode his motorcycle between shows, clocking in miles and experiences that would later inspire his lyrics and books.

Sadly, we lost this multifaceted artist in 2020, but his rhythm continues to echo in the hearts of music lovers worldwide.
