The Rock n' Roll Life of Ronnie Montrose

 You're never too old to rock and roll if you're too young to die. These words mirror the life of a rock legend, Ronnie Montrose.

  Born in the heart of Denver, Colorado in the year 1947, Ronnie was captivated by the raw energy of rock and roll from a young age. He was drawn to the pulsating rhythms of icons like Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry, their music resonating with his own rebellious spirit.  With a guitar in hand, Ronnie poured his heart and soul into every note, every strum, every melody. His passion for music was not just a hobby, but a lifeline, a means of expressing his inner world.


  In the late 60s,  he ventured west to the golden shores of California.  It was here, amidst the sun-soaked beaches and the vibrant music scene, that his career truly began to soar.


  From his humble beginnings in Denver to the golden beaches of California, Ronnie Montrose was destined for stardom. In the world of rock and roll, few bands have made as much of an impact as Montrose.


 The band was the brainchild of Ronnie Montrose, a visionary guitarist with a dream to alter the landscape of rock music forever.  Ronnie didn't just play in the band, he was the backbone, providing the driving force behind their hard-hitting sound.


  His collaboration with other band members was nothing short of electric,  a synergy that was palpable in their performances and recordings. Their self-titled debut album, “Montrose”, wasn't just a commercial success, it was a transformative piece of art that is still regarded as one of the greatest hard rock albums of all time.

Despite these personal challenges, he continued to create music that resonated with many, right until his untimely departure in 2012.  But let's not dwell on the tragic end, instead, let's celebrate the incredible legacy he left behind. 


  His influence on rock music is undeniable. He broke the mold, setting the stage for many rock musicians that came after him. He inspired a legion of guitarists with his innovative style, his raw energy, and his relentless pursuit of musical excellence. And let's not forget the enduring popularity of his music.  His iconic guitar riffs continue to reverberate through the annals of rock history, reaching new audiences and inspiring fresh waves of musicians.
